Hello again.

I'm Guru - an engineer turned designer making digital products intuitive and easy to use. I was born in Chennai, India, and spent the initial years of my life across four different cities in the United States. My cross-cultural experiences have helped me develop empathy for human-centric design and advocate for inclusivity.

In 2017, I discovered product design during my undergrad in Computer Science and Engineering. This led me to pursue a master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech. Over the past three years, I've collaborated with startups, non-profits, and big-tech companies. I'm extremely passionate about user research, design systems, and strategic foresight.

Recently, I mentored students at Georgia Tech to research, design, develop, and test cross-platform mobile applications with real-world users. In my free time, I produce electronic music and write poetry.

Here are some important learnings from design leaders such as Justin Maguire, Kat Holmes, Shahrzad Samadzadeh, and Florian Vollmer that have helped me in my design journey:

  1. Leave the world better than you found it.

  2. Understand your role in the grand scheme of things and be intentional in incorporating learning as a work goal.

  3. Build relationships cross-functionally across the business and develop a shared understanding of shippable.

  4. Honor individual experiences and seek ways to incorporate accessibility and inclusive design.
